HR Generalist

Main Responsibilities

This position plays an active role in the recruitment process of hourly and salary DSE employees. The HR Generalist-DSE will partner with the DSE Senior HR Business Partner to ensure that DSE-specific HR tasks related to onboarding & orientation, performance management, employee relations and the union relationship are completed appropriately

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Human Resources field

  • Experience in a Union environment a plus

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations governing employment

  • Understanding of HR best practices

  • Excellent administrative and organization skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing with a diverse group of employees

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships within all areas of the company

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment

  • Proven ability to work in a sensitive and confidential department

  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptable to change, and a solutions-oriented mindset

  • Demonstrates a customer service approach, with high level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for others

  • Excellent interpersonal Skills

  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
